(But really, I feel your pain, OP. Part of me thinks I wouldn't be nearly as invested in the show if it wasn't for this ship...and Samifer. And Wincest, too, probably. All the ships!)

That's some really shit artwork.

Sometimes I watch this show and wonder what the hell sort of graceful, skinny, elegant pixie-Dean other people are seeing. Because it certainly isn't the stocky, thick, walks-like-a-drunken-sailor Dean that I'm seeing.

+1. And I really hate to bring this up, but his hair color is all wrong.

Half the fandom's obsession with emasculating Dean is one thing I will never understand.

I mean, they even overemphasized the height difference there. Dean's one inch taller than Castiel in canon and he's got to be three inches taller in that pic. Why is blondish hair seen as emasculating?

Well, that's rather rude. Dean isn't all that stocky in the show and there's nothing in that pic that makes it impossible that he couldn't walk like canon!Dean does either. Most of Dean's bulk is with the multiple shirts he tends to wear. When he isn't wearing those, he's usually fairly slender. I'll grant you he has more muscular arms than in that pic, tho.

The hair is a bit blonder than Dean himself is, but hey, artistic license. And Dean's hair is that sort of dark blondish brownish shade that varies according to the lighting and how much sun he's been in, so I can buy it.

slender? even without his shirts, "slender" is not a word i'd ever use to describe jensen ackles.
he's still built like a fairly stocky, muscular fellow. imo "slender" is someone like jim parsons or benedict cumberbatch. certainly not built-like-a-jock jensen ackles.

I stopped watching last year when I couldn't ever remember to set my DVR for Friday instead of Thursday, and the ones I did see seemed...less than quality. But then I got hulu plus streaming to my TV anytime, and they were all like "Hey, wanna watch this season seven episode where evil Sam and Dean clones run amok of the law?" and I was all like "That's like my favorite thing to see!!!" and just like that I was right back in, and I had to beg for season 6 for Christmas, and then I started to remember how much Dean and Cas LOVE EACH OTHER (when Dean's not vacationing in an alternate universe with his wife Faith the vampire slayer, that is). And now I can't stop reading the slash fanfic. Always with the fanfic. Ah well. I, as they say, regret nothing. And I'm not some big Mishawife or anything, but sometimes I just wonder WHEN IS HE COMING BACK, WHY ISN'T IT NOW?? And I saw an article where the writers were all like "Yeah we/the boys used them too much to solve every problem, so it was good for the show to get rid of him." And I'm all like, good point, you did do that, why don't you bring him back and this time just NOT BE LAZY WRITERS? But whatever, I think they're doing pretty good for season seven. Season six of DEXTER, anyone? Yeah, it's downright SCARY when Supernatural is better written than DEXTER.

I love Dean/Cas too, OP. I multiship but ever since their epic break up in S6, I've been all about some Dean/Cas.

I feel you, OP. I wasn't expecting anything like that from the show, but god these two give me so many feels. It helps that I've been in the fandom a few months now and I'm still finding good fic pretty much every day. I've missed big fandoms so much.

I could swear the writers injected the Destiel stuff into canon, then made their story as tragic as possible to take revenge on the fans for not liking any of their proposed het relationships. Before season six I liked Castiel alright and had no objection to Dean/Castiel fanfics. But all the stuff that happened after made me a complete shipper the way I never thought possible. And then I saw it happen to a lot of people in the fandom as they fell one after another, like domino pieces, for this evil scheme by the writers.

You're not wrong, Kal Ella, you're not wrong. I can only speculate on what Dean and Cas get up to off screen, but I KNOW that there is a LOT of epic eye-fucking onscreen. And I like it.

I love how Castiel always kind of tilts his chin up so it *looks* like he's shorter than Dean, even when he's really not.

Ohh, wow. Of course Castiel's head tilting is infamous, but I never noticed he tilts his head *up* and looks down at Dean while tilting his head up.

tbh, I find Destiel the most boring of the SPN ships, but you can ship whatever you want.

Quite frankly, I miss when SPN used to be good.
