Someone did that in a kink meme I was in and pretty much destroyed the meme. Five years later, no kink meme has managed to get off the ground in that fandom.

ngl, I feel that way sometimes. Mostly because I have a huge squick with randomly breaking apart a canon pairing so your fic can happen. (Sorry, it's not my thing.)

Then I remember that there is a real person on the other side of the prompt, and I tend to just try and ignore the prompt.

So, yeah, just try and keep in mind the message of the song that's your bg, and hopefully eventually it will be less of a wanting to troll thing, and more of just an annoyance (if that) everytime you see it. (Because, it is weird when you see a prompt that's not your fav pairing, and while ship-and-let-ship is a good maxim to go by, that doesn't mean your own feelings are less important, as long as you don't try and force them on others.)

So much drama happens on kink memes that I don't go to them anymore. People don't know how to scroll pass stuff they don't like. They feel the need to comment on every prompt about how OOC it might be, how no one will fill it, how they don't like it, how it was already filled (heaven forbid you didn't like that one and want something new) and so on. I don't bother with them...and the fact that I am looking for het in a slash dominated fandom.

Some people rarely get their prompts filled, especially if it's something unusual, something they can't find anywhere else.
And, when one prompt then finally gets filled, it rarely gets a second chance, y'know? It's already been filled, why make another fill for the same prompt?

OP, if you write a fill for some shitty pairing you hate, you do realize that you're just ADDING to the number of stories written for that pairing, right? That should be reason enough not to do your troll thing.

Ah, I read some fills that make me think "does the person writing this even like the pairing?" So I guess I was right. Wouldn't it be a better use of time and way less immature to write for fill of couple you do like?

Since obviously pairings mean something to you(since it wouldn't make sense for you to want to do that otherwise) why don't you think about how much that would piss you off if someone started doing that with your favorite pairings' prompts? And then ask yourself why you'd wanna make someone else feel that pissed off when they probably were just enjoying their fun and not trying to bother anybody.

This reminds me of the time someone on the Transformers kink meme requested "Starscream dancing around a poll on the Nemesis" and it got a fill where Starscream danced around in a polling booth, getting people to vote. It was funny as fuck.

So, idk, you might have a legit audience for that sort of thing as long as you aren't a complete dick about it.

(And I keep thinking that even if you do your best to ruin a pairing in your fic, somebody out there is probably going to enjoy it unironically anyway, thus frustrating your best efforts. XD)
