I knew the story was inaccurate ever since it came out when I was a kid. I'unno, I've spent so many years being confused as to why they didn't stay true to the real story, then when I got older I just couldn't bring myself to be so mad about it.

And a lot of people can't watch stuff with Mel Gibson anymore so that's normal. Tho personally I don't care cuz I wouldn't bother to watch a lot of stuff if my disgust for certain actors/actresses got in the way. I care more about my entertainment then hating them it seems.

That's because you actually knew the story before the Disney version. For most people outside the US, the Disney version was their first encounter with it. Just how bad the innaccuracies were wasn't apparent right away.
