I might be alone in this, but I'm actually entirely okay with the fact that they've changed the story. Disney specializes in fairy tales, which were, by definition, constantly changing. I know Pocahontas was a real story, but history is NEVER accurate because it is always biased. I think it's naive to think there's any accurate version of it out there. Disney took a story and made it better for children, and I think the story they put out was wonderful.

But I agree about the Mel Gibson thing... I get turned off whenever he starts speaking. I think it's worth it for Pocahontas herself, and for Meeko, because he's adorable. Also, everyone should listen to Sara Ramirez's version of Colors of the Wind. It floored me.
