Yeah, you are taking it too seriously. And while I wouldn't mock you for not knowing American history, or whatever this purports to be (since the history version is sanitized enough), I will think it a little silly that you're so disappointed now that you've come across the historical version. Movies aren't objectives views on history, even if they are something that claims to be accurate, like biopics. The grand majority of writers aren't known for trying to get every detail, and even the one who do are trying to change your perspective on something. That's not the same as trying for accurate portrayal.

Mel Gibson is the worst, but I never liked John Smith anyway.
