It doesn't bother me either way to be honest, unless the comments about female characters/celebrities border on rape talk or something (you don't see as many rape-y comments from women as you do men, but those bother me too)

Really? I hear girls saying stuff like "OOOOH HE'S SO HOT I'M GONNA RAEP HIM!!" way more often than I hear guys blatantly mention rape. Not that guys are never skeevy, but I don't see them saying rape as much.

Well, you don't have to specifically mention rape for your comments to sound rapey
Like "I'D LIKE TO RIP HER CLOTHES OFF" etc. I'm sorry that kind of stuff just skeeves me out. And yes, women say stuff like that too, but maybe you just haven't been hanging around male-dominated fandom spaces enough or been able to see what male fans say unfiltered when they know women aren't listening to them.

Um - "way more?" I've been in various fandoms admiring male characters and celebrities (quite a few) for 20 years, seen and been in lots of pervy-type discussion of how how or good-looking, or whatever, they are, and have never heard the term "rape" bandied about. Where do you hang out?
