I know everyone here is saying crossdressing =/= trans and while that is true, crossdressing seems to be done as just a joke on tv more often than not.

I sorry you don't feel like you have anyone you can turn to, OP. Maybe find an online community where you can talk to other trans people?

i'm cis but i think this is what OP was saying. like when it's oh-so funny when there's a guy in a dress around, and that guy in a dress is the butt of every joke. and even though a guy in a dress isn't a trans girl, there are a lot of people who can't make that very basic distinction. also when there's "guy in a dress jokes", a lot of those jokes depend on 1) the character reads as a man to the audience/other characters, 2) another character finding him attractive while thinking he's a woman, 3) he seems to like it, ewww, or 4) penis. all of those being really offensive to actual trans women.

so yeah, OP's not a guy in a dress but that's the point, the jokes about guys in dresses revolve around a person whose body reads as male dressing in traditionally feminine clothing, and that's shitty.
