OH LORDY. I remember him touting some self-made comic a while back when I watched his videos, THAT'S it?

That's it. The art get's marginally better later on when he gets somebody to help. But he's still the one writing it. And it shows.

And yes, he's fighting the "philantropic" gang leader of a larger drug and slavery ring. The later plots continue to be vehicles for the characters viewpoints more then proper fights.

Actually, that was 'Revolution of the Mask'. I remember him namedropping it constantly in the early stages.
