Sometimes in real life it can be a motivating reaction to starting the relationship -- "I better tell her how I feel or else he'll get to do it first and then I'll have lost any chance!" kind of thing which is fine, but once you're there and in an actual real relationship jealousy and overprotective crap is fucking bullshit and disrespectful.
Nothing beats the time an ex told me I couldn't talk to anyone with a penis or go anywhere but to and from work without him. It blew his fucking mind when I told him I also like girls. He then told me I couldn't have any friends -- Because you know I'd obviously fuck them all.
