I've been wondering about people's reactions to BC's looks and I think people do understand beauty is subjective but for some of them, there's a line? Like beauty is subjective, but only to a certain point, and from then on, it's all butt ugly? Basically, when they see BC's face, it's simply TOO UGLY and/or strange to comprehend? Sounds harsh but that's how I explain these comments.

He typically wouldn't be attractive to me but Sherlock's been my fave book character for almost 20 years now and I've been in love with him for so long. I tend to like the looks of actors who play him simply because they're Sherlock Holmes. And I am one of those fans who like BC better in motion and with dark curly Sherlock hair (darkening his eyebrows would have been another big plus). I think all of his other looks don't suit him at all because of the shape of his face, while dark hair gives a nice contrast to his pale skin and brings out his blue eyes more. His facial features look better with longer hair IMO. His charming deep voice is also a plus (and how!). To me it's the sexiest Sherlock voice ever. I've been waiting for ages to hear MY ultimate Sherlock voice (though Jeremy Brett's is just as wonderful and Brett is a fantastic Holmes). :D

It all evens out for me in the end. Holmes is supposed to look "striking" as Doyle put it, anyway, and not attractive (Doyle was upset when he was drawn too gorgeous so he'd attract the female readers. He wanted him to be ugly). And BC is definitely striking, I think many will agree on that.
