I'm genuinely curious - how is having feathers woven into hair racist? Pretty much everyone I know is wearing feathers, clip-ons or professionally done. I didn't know there was something bad about it?

Yeah. I work in retail and we sell...Candy clips? I think that's what they're called. Anyway, we used to have a huge display up at the registers. They sell pretty well.

Some idiot decided that Native Americans were the only people who used feathers for decoration ever, and so all modern use of feathers as hair decoration were exploiting Native American culture. It's pretty dumb and I don't recommend putting too much bother into it.
