FWIW, you're not missing much. I probably need to find better ones, but after everything "friends" have done to me, I don't think they're worth having, and frankly the thought of anyone wanting to be that close scares the living shit out of me. I'll take barely met acquaintances any day. They're safer.

I've never watched this show (I keep meaning to...) but you can always change. It's possible. I was always a cold person, and always a whiner too, but once I decided not to be anymore I was able to slowly change the things I didn't like about myself. I still default to cold and/or whiny, but I can catch myself before acting that way. The person people see is a much warmer, more positive person than what's actually underneath. And I find that, as the years go by, the person underneath is starting to match the mask a little better. They say that smiling makes you happy, and turns out it's true.
