I've seen it's not just Kallen that gets crapped on in this fandom for being a potential love interest for Lelouche. CC and Shirley sure get a lot of crap too. I'm not a huge fan of this series but for the most part I thought all three girls were likeable, so it's a bit depressing that so many people only seem to care about who Lelouche may or may not want in his bed.

As for Suzaku the most common complaint I've heard is that he's just irritating as a character.

Ironically, Suzaku is pretty much the only character I can stand in this show so far. (Granted, I'm only like 17 episodes in.) Lelouch is a huge colossal dickwad and I can't honestly imagine why people like him. His means do not justify the end. The way their world is is wrong, no doubt, but the way he's going about it isn't right, either. Suzaku at least seems to have some honor and morals. Bleaaah.

Suzaku at least seems to have morals and honor? Ohhh boy you said it, you really have not seen enough episodes. I don't want to spoil you but there are some very specific reasons Suzaku tries to act the way he does and one thing I enjoyed was the series showing that in his own way, he is as just as wrong as Lelouch. I love him as a character but the kid is messed the fuck up.

Thank you! It's Flash Sword Irene (she's called Quick Sword Elena in English) from the series Claymore. It has a short OVA which isn't bad, but the manga is still continuing as far as I know. To sum it up in a line, it's a story about blonde half-demon ladies who use Claymore swords to kill the demons they're "made" from. The fighting is actually really great and the battles aren't predictable snoozefests.
