I thought it would effect me a lot more than it did. I didn't even come close to crying (well not until people started making fanvids of it. Thanks guys). But I can get knowing how something is going to end for a character you love and just not wanting to see it because then it becomes "real" in the sense.

It's why I've never been able to watch what happens to Fred in the last series of Angel. @_@

Oh, good, I thought I was the only one. Everyone on the Sherlock comms is getting emotional, and I'm like, "Meh..." I can appreciate that other people are sad about it--trust me, there's plenty of stuff that makes me bawl my eyes out that other people would say "Meh..." to--but it just... like you said, it didn't effect me much.

Don't get me wrong, it was a good episode and there's a lot that I love in it. There are a few things that niggle me but I preferred it over Hounds of Baskerville. It just didn't get me sobbing like I wish it had. Which is usually an easy thing for me as long as I care about the characters to begin with which I do with these more than any other fandom I'm in at the moment. Like Mitchell leaving in Being Human last year had me howling at the TV. I love getting that invested in a story. But at the end of Reichenbach I was just sort of; "Hmmm."

I actually got more teared up watching the Granada version (not to turn this into a Holmes vs Holmes debate, just felt like mentioning it).

Ah, ok... (-:

[identity profile] fiwen1010.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Seconded. It was worse second time around, because there was more inevitability and the wait had settled in. That sort of cliffhanger doesn't work well for me except the first time, then I start getting annoyed at only having half the story.

Yup- same here. I thought I'd be sobbing by the end of it, or when Sherlock was talking to John on the roof, and the farthest I got was a little bit of crying when John asked Sherlock to not be dead.

[identity profile] lolofielding.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Same. That was when my heart gave a little tug. Mostly down to Martin Freeman's absolutely perfect delivery when he says; "Would you do that, just for me? Just stop it. Stop THIS." :((

[identity profile] deadtree.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
omg you stop D: I'm getting all teary again.

[identity profile] lolofielding.livejournal.com 2012-01-28 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I'm way too evil to stop. For instance, here's a video that will have you crying (it was the one that did get me over it when I didn't watching the episode).

XD
