I don't really have much of an opinion on "the nostalgia chick". Other than the fact that I just find her whole shtick boring. That opinion can never be voiced without people jumping down other's throats though. Apparently, speaking ill of "the chick", even if it's something as simple as: "I find her boring", is grounds for the people who do like her to want to flay you alive.

I know what you mean, OP. My 'pick me up' song of choice is Shake It Out, by Florence though. Whenever I feel depressed I pump up that jam and belt out 'And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back, so shake him off!' I think what we associate with music can be a very powerful thing. Heck, there are all sorts of studies showing how the our favorite music can effect us.

Cool story sis time:

A few years ago, I was part of a market research study where I had to watch a sitcom on a DVD, complete with commercial breaks, then fill out a questionnaire at the end. The sitcom was stupid, but the questionnaire was actually all about how much I remembered of the commercials- specifically one about face wash. I didn't remember much about the face wash, barely remembered what brand... I just remembered wondering if the girls were roommates, sisters... or were they girlfriends, because they seemed like they could definitely be a couple. I may have even asked the study coordinator about it. Apparently the commercial was deemed memorable enough, because now it's on TV, and now everyone can share my wondering if those two are a couple. YOU'RE WELCOME. :P

That was the ending I got, and I couldn't have been happier since I didn't like either of them, though Katherine was less grating on my nerves. The Maniac Pixie Dream Girl thing Catherine had going on just made me roll my eyes. She reminded me of Lilah from Dexter.

Why? 1) What goes wrong between these two on this Kyle XY show (never heard of it) and 2) do the individuals in this couple share characteristics at all with Damon or Elena?

Now I'm curious. Because if they're totally different types of people OP you might be "safe" even if there is *one* someone in common on the production team. ^_^

What especially gets me are the people who claimed to have been ENJOYING the book and character, but as soon as they found out she had a name and background change (or reinstated in this case), they dropped the book and jumped ship.

I could understand the outrage if it was over the shoddy marketing. But if your reason for dropping a book you were otherwise enjoying was because you didn't get the mafia princess Huntress, now you're just being childish. If the book and character is still good, why the fuck should it matter which Helena it is? Grow up.

Oh god, I love that anime <3 Both couples' "storylines" (if you will) were incredibly amazing and romantic. It's been quite a long time since an anime last moved me so much. I still think about the plot and ending weeks after the last episode has aired... it's really rare.

While I love both Kanba and Shoma, I do have a special thing for Kanba <3 I'm just into red-heads.

To be honest I think Sally is awesome as the sort of "love to hate" character. But her accusing Sherlock of being the kidnapper did annoy me for one reason. Why would Sherlock have been stupid enough to go into a room with a kid who would have recognised him if he was the kidnapper? I get her being suspicious before hand but no one even seemed to question that logic.

But I just put that down to bad writing. I thought that whole "let's make Sherlock out to be a fake" thing was all-together rushed and not as good as it could have been.
