Your friend might need to hear that she isn't special for being a girl who doesn't like makeup and prefers anime figures instead. Then maybe she'll shut up about it and just let you both enjoy your collections and hobbies.
Makeup is pretty and fun. That's it, no more explanation needed.
There are people who have severe image issues who use makeup as a band-aid, and there are people and institutions who are huge judgmental assholes to people (mainly women) who don't wear makeup or enough makeup, but I don't think either of those factor into your makeup hobby so it's none of your friend's business.

Yeah, people backlash against the whole idea that a woman needs to wear make-up to be pretty, which is understandable because it's a pretty disgusting idea. But they backlash so hard that they end up being cruel to anyone who happens to enjoy make-up. Fighting against one type of judgement by creating another type doesn't help anyone.
