...Why are so pissed about this? You're the only person who replied to my comment. I haven't "derailed" anything. I get that everyone seems to hate SJ and the idea of policing discussion. But fighting that by telling me what I can and can't say is counter-productive.

I'm talking about fandom on Fandom Secrets. MLP is a popular fandom. It invades threads where the secret has absolutely nothing to do with MLP. This one uses an image from MLP and mentions a specific scene. You get shitloads of "OT but I need a link to that fanart you used as background" and "not much to say about that secret but squee for mentioning my favorite fandom" comments all the time here. Do you lose your shit over those too?

Pretty sure it's all the same anon, so I wouldn't worry. Original commentor mentions that aggressive anon is overreacting for saying they derailed the thread because aggressive anon is the only person who replied. Within the space of a few minutes, suddenly several other aggressive anons reply, all agreeing with each other.

People like you are the reason "SJ battles" NEED to exist. Ugh. How dare those people want to be treated with respect and have their feelings considered, am I right?

Urgh, so much this. SJ isn't some horrible movement designed to stamp out all fun. It's just about respecting other people and being aware of them and not knowingly hurting them. I get that some people can go too far in the name of SJ, but that doesn't mean everyone who has a legitimate complaint should just shut up for fear of ruining somebody's right to say nasty shit.

You know, though, anytime I see people bring up SJ issues online it is through dog-piling comments meant innocently enough and bullying the people they're shouting out. It's ridiculous. SJ consciousness is great but when you shoe-horn it inappropriately into every conversation and use it as a tool to shame and attack others? That's problematic and it's the reason there's a backlash against SJers.

I know everyone on Fandom Secrets seems to hate Social Justice. But the ratio of SJers being assholes to people compared to people being assholes whenever they think they smell SJ is ridiculous. If anyone points out they find something upsetting or hurtful or bigoted or insulting or, God forbid, offensive, they get torn apart.
