Hmm. Maybe it's because of the fact that there have been so many absolutely wretched US remakes of Brit shows? And people are getting tired of the complete lack of originality U.S. writers/producers are showing these days by simply giving something British new American accents?

Said as an American who's entirely sick of this and can recognize a train wreck approaching without having watched/read any versions of Sherlock Holmes.
