I worry that it will be made with no real affection for the series, because they are so blatantly attempting to cash in on the success of the BBC series.

I try to be open minded about it but then the defensive British part of me goes ‘OMG no, how dare you steal our icon! Call him Sherlock all you want but that won’t be our Sherlock Holmes.’

I mean, I enjoyed House’s earlier season, and that was very obviously a homage to Sherlock Holmes. The difference being that the creators of House made House his own character but with a love of Sherlock Holmes in mind, the creators of ‘Elementary’ are using Holmes in an attempt to make money from a successful concept and that doesn't sit well with me.
