OT, BUT. Nothing hurts me more than coming across a fic that sounds SPECTACULAR only to discover that that it sucks. Talk about being disappointed.

It's ten times worse when the fic has, like, a million reviews despite it being horribly written/told.

It is ridiculously frustrating to find an amazing prompt with a terribly written fic, even more than if it went unfilled. It's the excitement and hope that makes it worse, I think. (And the fact that because there's a fill, it's extremely less likely that it'll get another fill.)

I have to agree with you on this particular disappointment. Man, it sucks when you come across what should be an interesting fic, and it's terribly written/put together especially if it's popular in terms of reviews and such.

+1, came to the thread to say this, so thanks for saving me the trouble! (ooh, also, it's the worst when the fic has an amazing premise, but it horribly written, and is by a BNF that everyone fawns over)
