Why shouldn't people refer to them by their first names? They are human (debatable in Michael Jackson's case). Always referring to them by their full names seems to elevate them from the status quo. They're not oh so important. So what if people act a little familiar on the internet? It's not like they'd run up to him in real life and go "Yo Michael! How's it hanging?" It not a big deal. Get over it.
