Yeah, at first when I started hearing that term thrown around I would immediately think of plantlife.

I agree with the secret. I think a lot of fandom types identify as "asexual" simply because they might not have too much experience with sex, or are a late bloomer, maybe.

I don't understand the fact that I've come across self-identified asexuals who've admitted being attracted to another person. Wouldn't that.. prove that they ARE sexual in some way?

There is a difference between sexual orientation and romantic orientation. It's completely normal to have nonsexual attractions or even be in a romantic relationship that doesn't involve sex and still identify as asexual.

I've had nonsexual crushes on other people before, what it means is that I admire them physically and may want to spend more time around them, but have zero desire to act on it. Just like it's possible for a homosexual person to find someone of the opposite gender good looking. You can admire someone without calling into question your orientation.

Of course, those people admitting attraction may be S.A.D (Sexual Aversion Disorder) rather than truly asexual.

(sorry for going on about that, it's a subject that interests me a lot >_>'')
