I feel the same way. But I said some douchey things as well and they got taken the wrong way. But I'm a huge supportor of LBGT rights offline. My Dad came out as transgendered in 2008, and I accepted her and realized how much happier she was as a woman. My uncle is gay and the most loving, giving, positive person I know. I'm bisexual most of friends are. And I don't get that I get labeled homophobic because I don't support the fandom's favorite slash pairing. I only judge a person on their actions and character not who they love or fuck (unless that person or thing can't consent or doesn't). In Doctor who I support and love all kinds of slash because canon jumps around there are gaps and I think you don't see everything that goes on in TARDIS all the time.

I've liked slash in other fandoms. Hell I love Queer as Folk. And yes I said I was sorry.

But in other fandoms I've found as well. I've had to 'go along' with slash and sometimes het pairing that don't make any ding-dong sense to me. Harry Potter fandom. I'm like: "Them?! But Colin Creevy and Peeves have more chemistry! Sure they've never met... but... Oh god.."
So I shut the hell up, I was lucky it was so vast I could afford to ship what I wanted until it got canon'd. For a while I shipped Snape/Millicent Bulstrode. Zacharias Smith/Blaise Zabini!

And what you do when so many fics even serious ones are people doing stereotypes. One character becomes the 'woman' or the 'femme' and the other is the 'man' or 'the butch'. Or semi and uke. In I dunno fandoms based on things where both character in canon act as masculine as anything but maybe one buys nicer clothes. And that gets spun out into them being a swishy fashionista. Oh then they kill off or evil the woman. Can't they stay IC? I mean there are queens and twinks and such. But then are average guys who happen to find other guys hot and not dig women. Isn't there a video on youtube called: "I'm gay but..."
Yeah..

And then there are kinks that are playing into this. Kinks are fine but robbing a character of what makes them, that character for the sake of a fic. To me you might as well be turning them a big ass sex toy. A doll that only looks like them on the outside. Then again what we see, read etc are all subjective we are seeing through the lense of our brains, culture, bias etc. Look at the debates we get in! "He saved her! No he robbed of her dignity!" Wank, wank, wank.
Even actors, writers, producers might not agree.

So yeah big can of worms.

TL;DR: I am HUGE HUGE support of LBGT rights IRL. But I don't happen to like every slash pairing. Also all slash is not equal. Some of it sucks and is OOC

PS. I want Thomas to have a lover on the next Downtwon series. Maybe a Hot, very macho Northern under-gardern played by... Tom Hardy and a shirtless scene by the same?
