Fanfic writers write fanfic because they want to. And if they have reasons to stop writing, those are their reasons.

I don't think it's them leaving that bothers the OP. I think that it's them not bothering to warn anyone and removing their stuff.

I don't agree with #1 at all. I don't agree with #2 at all either (just 'cause the author has the right doesn't mean it doesn't suck eggs), actually, but what can ya do. Get upset and move on. All you can do, really.
