i think fandom experiences can vary a lot. especially if you're in a huge fandom like, say, homestuck. speaking of HS, in my experience the fandom has been (for the most part) very friendly on tumblr. and there are some very, very unfriendly places out there. (namely i'm thinking of skaianet, which routinely grosses me out.)

Would you please explain why skaianet grosses you out, if it wouldn't be a bother? I've seen bits of the fandom around, so I'm slowly getting into Homestuck and from your comments here, I think you're a reliable person about these types of things (if that doesn't sound too creepy, ha ha).
