This secret is the reason that people like Marius don't like people like Eponine, even if we are going musical-verse and not book-verse (where, given, Marius is a complete ass to Eponine and starts swooning over Cosette's letter happily while she just dies. She's mostly happy that she's dying making him happy, not that there's any returned affection). Even if she's not the batshit crazy stalker that she is in the book - deliberately luring him to a situation where he might die b/c she doesn't want him to get with anyone else much? - she's still really creepy. It's not his fault he doesn't like her, and she can't - no one can - force someone to be in love with them, it leads to bad, bad things.

Do NOT hurt yourself, because he'll only think you're a stalker and you'll lose the friendship as well. I mean, would you like someone you didn't like - not your Marius-crush in disguise, someone you REALLY didn't like, or even a friend you don't like in a romantic way - to blackmail you into a relationship because you're afraid they'll go through with their threats of hurting themselves just to get their notice? How would you feel if you were the Cosette of the relationship - say you did miraculously get with this Marius-crush of yours at long last, and then some NEW person starts going "OMG I will hurt myself just to get his attention!"? Seriously, just try to think at this from different POVs and you'll realize how very, very bad this idea of yours is.
