This secret couldn't have waited three more weeks??? I'm not angry about spoilers or anything, but come on, OP, if you'd only waited... I have a feeling that this topic is goign to be a HUGE area of debate amongst the fandom...

...but maybe that's the point? Did you want to be the first one to bring it up or something?

Ah, anyway, I'm not the biggest fan of Garrus/Tali myself, but it's cute enough. I don't think that they ever had that much basis for a relationship... Well, I guess that's not true. If I recall their Shaodw Broker dossiers correctly, they're both fans of Fleet and Flotilla, which won awards for its portrayal of "Turian and Quarian relationships".... So maybe Tali has a kink for Turians and Garrus has a kink for Quarians? IDK.

I think that Tali had much more chemistry with Kal'Reegar, and that a relationship with him has a lot more basis and would have made a lot more sense, but whatever. *shrugs*

I'm not angry about spoilers, not at all. You did give a warning and that's perfectly fair. I just think that if you'd waited a few weeks, you would have gotten a lot more conversation and "I agree! This is the worst thing ever! / I disagree! This is the best thing ever!" comments and a lot less people calling you a troll. That's all.

Oh, I see what you mean now. Yeah that's true, but I kind of wanted to get it off my chest right away and I figure there will be plenty of discussions about it on tumblr/LJ/whatever once the game actually comes out.

They're also both techs who come from fairly hierarchical cultures that value community above individualism. They've both to some degree distanced themselves/been distanced from their people since hooking up with Shepard, though the relative degree depends on the outcome of Tali's loyalty in ME2. They're not OMG super-obviously meant for one another, but they do have some commonalities beyond similar taste in entertainment that would make for decent bonding...if Bioware hadn't failed at giving much squaddie interaction.
