Warning discussion of rape

It was the fifth of January. Three years ago. I had let my dog Rufus 'do his business' in my yard and then took him on a long walk. It was my favourite time of day. Quiet, alone to gather my thoughts, rufus strutting by my side.

I heard someone behind me. Wasn't worried at all. Small town, neighbours, people taking walks... The person got closer. Rufus began to growl. I felt something and then nothing.

I woke up tied to a tree. Rufus was dead. I still wonder at the fact that seeing Rufus dead was more upsetting for that second then the fact that I was tied to a tree.

It lasted three hours. The force of it broke my lower back.

The force of it, the act of it broke me.

No rape is worse than another.

Rape is about power.

Rape is about destruction.

Rape is about pain.

Rape is about humiliation.

Rape is about fear.

Rape is about control.

Rape never has been and never will be about sex.

If you honestly think that rape is worse for asexuals because "sexuals like sex" than I would like you to travel back to that night.

That night I was tied to a tree. That night I screamed so loud, so hard and for so long that I ruptured a vocal cord.

That night that the agony I felt is something I cannot describe with any words.

That night someone forced themselves in me...while laughing.

That night I lost my ability to trust.

My ability to see myself as worthy.

My ability to simply see a tree and a forest and dirt...as a tree and a forest and dirt.

Asexuality is a part of a person.

Sexuality is a part of a person.

Rape....is the destruction of a person.
