*wipes self off* Sorry about that. It's that the last post and its comments on a secret or two in it seemed to be an all-around "hey, let's call all yaoi fans stupid" bashfest right down to het fans accusing one secret poster of not having real-life intelligence.

I'm getting really tired of the idea that being anti-slash to the extent of thinking all fictional characters MUST be straight unless they're written like the Scissor Sisters or the Queer Eye guys or a seme and an uke, since it *is* a "port" of homophobia into fandom.

I seriously do not get where you're getting this from. If ANYONE, yaoi fan OR het fan, had posted "LOOK HERE ARE MY SAT SCORES IM SMART," the response would have been exactly the same. No one said "you're stupid because you like yaoi," they said "you're stupid because you think SAT scores mean anything in the real world, plus you're posting your scores here and showing off like you expect people to care."

I'm saying this because (and no, I'm not the secret poster, I don't ID as a "her") most of the commenters zeroed in on that rather than considering the actual point of the secret.

But the point was, she was saying she was smart, and just by posting that secret it kind of showed how... not smart she was? Because really, common sense, how else was she expecting everybody to respond? I think that was the point that people were making: by making and posting the secret claiming to be smart, she showed an utter lack of foresight.
