The SPN fandom is to you what the HP fandom is to me. I swear that fandom got me into things I've never so much as knew were possible before. I maybe had three or four real (and vanilla) kinks before joining the fandom... now I have more than I can count on my fingers and toes doubled and combined. And most of them aren't anything I'd ever admit to so much as knowing about aloud IRL.

I agree with this secret so much. This fandom and the Harry Potter fandom got me into so many kinks that I already had but never realized. Between the two of them, I was able to figure out things about myself that I never would have realized otherwise. So, no matter how crazy the fandoms are, I will always be grateful to them.

In my case I had seen and read such kinks before, just not in the context of fandom and well loved characters. My experience was limited to such tucked away corners of wed like nifty.org and other well hidden places were nameless authors indulged in their wild fantasies in large, unedited and unbetad text files and there was no feedback or acknowledgment of any kind. To see it out in the open, posted on people's journals while their friends commented and praised them was interesting.

And yes, the orgasms are much more epic when the writing is better and the story is about character you actually know and give a damn about.
