I generally don't ship het because I've been pressured into straight relationships my entire life. And though there are a handful of exceptions where the characters were just so amazing together that I could overlook it, even when I wasn't trying to I would find myself attempting to get into the character's shoes or relate... and it would bring up a lot of shitty memories I'd rather not deal with. I wouldn't go nearly as far as to say it was "triggering," but there's a lot of aspects of het that make me wildly uncomfortable.

Not everyone ships on character chemistry alone, there are a lot of factors at work.
