There seems to be this perception that losing weight is the greatest accomplishment a woman can, uh, accomplish. Harry Potter fans may recall an interview with JKR that I'm kind of paraphrasing from memory here, but went roughly like this:

>JKR meets old acquaintance
>Acquaintance says "oh man have you lost weight since we last met?"
>JKR thinks "Yes, and I've also written a best-selling book series and created life, but sure, comment on the weight if you want."

... Yeah, I'm not sure what I think I'm contributing with this comment, it just immediately came to mind. o.o;
