Details? Cos I'm also new and never seen any wanks/inconsideration. And I know inconsiderate fandoms; I've been in Glee, AtLA and Harry Potter fandoms. Not pretty.

While we're at it, can anyone point me out anywhere I should go for constant updates and generally wank-free Sherlock comm?

I'd love to analyze what kinds of shows/series make for horrible wanky fandoms. As far as I can tell, there's no correlation between anything. Look at that list you have. It's neither "bad/problematic works = bad fandoms" or "good/thoughtful works = bad fandoms". And I've seen separate fandoms with equal amounts of shipping potential get completely different levels of cray-cray. I wonder if there's a recipe for bad fandom somewhere, just so that I can predict it instead of marathoning a show, going "OMG SO AWESOME", and then venturing enthusiastically online only to be slapped in the face by the unexpected wank and vitriol.

It looks like "media aimed at children to teenagers" is a good place to start, just going from Glee, HP, and AtLA. Also, there's MLP and Transformers, which can be wanky as all hell.

I don't have any theories beyond this, really, but since we're talking about it. XD
