I was just coming to mention Harry Potter. I mean, it's less so now that there's no new canon coming along. But back when we were all waiting for book 5? I'm surprised some of the Harmony shippers didn't kill somebody. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

I wasn't really in the fandom during book five's release, but if it was anything like the sploogefest of book six, I have no trouble imagining that someone might have gotten stabbed over Harry Potter fandom disputes.
