Personally that's what annoys me the most about a lot of SJWs - they'll tell me off for using a certain word, and I'll point out I'm part of the group it's insulting and have never found it to be an issue, and the ones that don't just go for the "your experiences =/= everyone else's experiences" line start going on about how I've internalized bigotry and "should" be feeling something other than what I do feel. People don't take well to being told what to do, let alone what to feel, why the fuck should we?

I haven't internalized bigotry. I just have more important things to worry about.

It reminds me of this speech from "The Great Dictator":

"Soldiers: don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you as cattle, as cannon fodder.

Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don't hate, only the unloved hate. Only the unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers: don't fight for slavery, fight for liberty."

Which is kind of apt, IMO. >_>;

Yeah, please don't tell me how to feel about things, and we won't have a problem. :/

I haven't internalized bigotry. I just have more important things to worry about.

That's what bothers me the most about SJW excesses.
When they spend so much energy (and bully people about) things that appear to be a very minor point of a bigger problem.

And when they ignore context completely to nitpick at words alone. Context matters a lot.

Hit the nail on the head.

I've actually seen threads in which a person was being bullied profusely for forgetting to post a trigger warning (and apologizing all the while) because someone somewhere might potentially be triggered by this, and someone came in and said that the continued conversation was triggering them. Did the SJWs stop? No, they kept going and going AND GOING, completely ignoring a REAL person who said they were REALLY being triggered by the continued conversation - in order to keep bullying a person about how they're an asshole because they may have perhaps triggered somebody somewhere in the world right now.

And who got blamed for the continued conversation by the SJWs? Why, the original poster, because they wouldn't stop apologizing every time a new comment popped up calling them a triggery, abusive rape apologist.

So, what have we learned from all of this? A theoretical minority who might have been triggered is more important than a REAL victim who is telling a SJW to stop. BECAUSE AFTER ALL, THEY'RE JUST TRYING TO HELP, RIGHT?! THAT MEANS THEY AREN'T DOING ANY DAMAGE TO ANYBODY! It's okay for a SJW to do it because they're righteous heroes trying to make a difference! But if you're a regular person and you do it, then you're a misogynistic, racist, homophobic bigot. No exceptions.

These are 100% my exact experiences as well. They tell you off for using a term like "crazy" because it's going to insult a minority SOMEWHERE, and when you point out that you're part of it (and thus should be able to choose whether or not you are offended by it), their only response is to tell you "WELL CLEARLY YOU MUST BE SELF-HATING, THEN". ..no.. I'm not self-hating, and YOU, a person who has likely never struggled with mental illness, do NOT get to tell me how I should be identifying with a word used to describe me and not you.
