Well MonkeyChickenShortBeansproutOfSweetJoyousDeath is just brilliant. I recommended all the FMA compromises to this immediately. XD

It's hard to argue back with your points since I agree with them. ^^; Not being a member of the FMA fandom, I think I';d put down the 'Edo' thing as bothering me to a personal tick. It tends to be fanbrats who're trying to be clever who do it...which is always incredibly annoying.

I couldn't tell you the place names I'm afraid, but Amestria (?) does indeed seem more Western, the clothing and the names atleast the area itself looks like a desert half the time..

You're about right about katakana. In the katakana alphabet there is no stand-alone 'd', making 'Edo' the standard compromise.


I don't have to deal with it so often though, not being in the fandom and all. ^^; That and things like doujin scanslations always use Ed in my experience.
