I've thought about it but never really looked into it, is there anything good for them? I find myself wanting it now hahaha

It's been a long while since I've looked back at my bookmarks, so I don't remember WHY I bookmarked them in the first place. I think I can only safely somewhat rec a couple until I find time to reread.

I remember liking Stormy1x2 (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/7929/Stormy1x2)'s fics because they were following and including anime canon. It starts with Rich and Intrepid Souls (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4517867/1/Rich_and_Intrepid_Souls).

And then there's Melody of a Memory (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5045006/1/Melody_of_a_Memory) if you're interested in an aged-up, "Ash TOTALLY becomes a Champion at some point in his future" au where Gary is Ash's estranged friend, going through divorce, and Ash is a burnt out man child because he doesn't like the lifestyle being a champion demands of him. It updates at a snail's pace. Like, over a year. But I remember liking all the pining going on. POV is first person iirc, so watch out for that if it bothers you?

Also, there used to be a REALLY good fanfic site a LONG time ago that had a lot of really good Ash/Gary fic. One story in particular that I remember had some rafting race and I think Ash got hurt? I remember liking it a lot, but that site has since disappeared and all the stories on it. :C

That fic sounds familiar. Was it hosted on tripod or geocities, or one of those free webhosts that decided to die? I know Punk Shishi (http://www.angelfire.com/pokemon2/punkshishi/fanworks/fics.html) saved some of those ages ago, like they were pre-emptively aware of the death of ye olde internete, so you could double check?

Those old fansites were totally my rabbit hole for this ship.

Huh. I'm definitely gonna look through those fics. And yeah, I think that fic was on one of those old Geocities sites. ;~;
