(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 03:24 am (UTC)(link)But. Have you watched season four? Castiel calls himself a soldier! He's basically a grunt fighting in an endless war. His retort when Dean complains that he wasn't around to help out in 4.02 is that he's got better shit to do defending the needs of Heaven than to sit around on Dean's shoulder and that several of his brothers had recently died in the fight so Dean can STFU or be tossed back into Hell. He deliberately compares himself to Dean as a soldier in his Father's war.
I mean. Like or dislike the guy, read or don't read his fic, but he's a soldier born and bred. His entire purpose was to be a soldier of God.
