Hypersexuality can be caused by illnesses and is not necessarily a long-term thing. Hypersexuals are perfectly capable of being asexual. Hypersexuality can refer to a physical need for sex, even if they experience no sexual attraction.

Can you not perpetuate the idea that there's something wrong with hypersexuals and that we're "ill"?

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Um excuse me, I'm hypersexual. And it's caused by an illness.

If it's caused by illness you're not hypersexual. Being hypersexual is part of your identity.

Fuck you, identity police.

Are you thinking of the term aromantic? Because asexual and hypersexual are antonyms, as far as I'm concerned.

Um.

What about "experience no sexual attraction" do you not understand.

If you're hypersexual you are by definition experiencing sexual attraction.

Unless you're autosexual.

But still I burn...

Wow. WOW. Are you really trying to tell me how I experience sexuality? Do you not realized how much privilege you're showing right now?

Okay, maybe I'm being a privileged douchecake here, but I really don't care. In this instance? I'm fine with saying that hypersexuals that are appropriating the asexual identity for their own means do not deserve to use that label for themselves.
