I like all the Gens but Gen 2 will always be my favorite, as I liked every single character and I can't say that about the others Gens.

G2 will always be my favorite. I like G1 a whole lot, though. G3 I could not care less about.

I started out in S3, so it's probably inevitable that Gen 2 will be my favourite (plus it's got my favourite TV character and favourite TV episode of all time in it).

Honestly? If I'd started from episode 1 of Gen 1 I'd probably have given up on the show by midway through the first season. Which would have been a monumental shame, because then I'd never have seen how good S2 was (yep, I'm the very worst kind of fan in that I genuinely still don't get the fuss about S1) and I certainly wouldn't have got near to the majesty of S3. And I've even come to terms with almost everything that happened in S4. Including the ending.

From what little I've seen though (i.e. the first two episodes of S5), Gen 3 is a bag of wank.

Honestly, I don't think it's even fair to compare all the different generations (and I include US!Skins in this). They're all fantastic in some ways and horrible in others, but tend to balance out into something completely enjoyable. Basically, my opinion on Skins boils down to: "Fuck it, I love them all!"

Really? Probably 90% of the fannish stuff I see for Skins is for Gen 2.

Well... tru dat, but that's because 50% of Skins fannish stuff is Naomily (seriously, a quick countup on FF.net - obviously not a meaningful metric, but the point remains - shows that 1257 of 2536 fics feature at least one of them, and 1054 both. Which makes sense, because they're epic). Knock that out and I know I've found that a lot of the rest swear by Gen 1; it really depends on where you got started. Most of the people I speak to over here started with Gen 1 and a healthy chunk of them detest the second gen.

no lie, I thought the second gen kinda dissolved towards the end of the 4th season. (though shit, the third started dissolving at the BEGINNING of the 6th season, so.) That still wouldn't just ~erase my love for the characters.
