As long as you're paying to see the movies, then he is completely fine with it. One of the great things about Michael Caine is how open he is when talking about money. He's in the movie business for it, and if you pay to see his movies he is happy you seeing him as any of his roles. Even the one involving the roaring shark (he got a holiday in the Bahamas and a house, it was awesome).

There was Zulu, where he hadn't realised he was a cockney yet, so he played someone else. Then he realised he was Michael "Bloody" Caine.

And The Swarm where he played a guy desperately wishing he wasn't playing a guy in The Swarm.

I always see him in my head doing Conan O'Brian's "Secrets" lol. That being said he's my favorite Scrooge EVER.

I used to see him as Scrooge, but now I always think of him as Harry Palmer. The ridiculously long scenes in The Ipcress File where he's trying to decide what kind of canned mushroom soup to buy and he stands grinding coffee beans and making coffee forever always come to mind. I don't know, they just struck me as funny.

I suspect this would delight, rather than bother him. Everything I've seen of him suggests he's got a fantastic sense of humor (or why would he star with Muppets in the first place?) and doesn't take himself seriously at all. It's one of the many reasons I adore him.
