Well, their story probably would have made for a better movie than theirs did. And I know, games and movies are different and a story that works well in a game doesn't necessarily in a movie, but fill in some details, make some minor alterations,,, it could have worked.

It probably would have felt sort of epically cheesy, or like an older movie, but I think it would have worked. Not that I hated the PoP movie, I just didn't love it, and I LOVE Sands of Time the game.

Still one of the better movies based on a video game.

I would have preferred watching Farah myself. Whatsername came off whiny and bratty for a good stretch compared to Farah's capable and slightly devious.

totally agree. i loved farah and i don't think they made the prince in the movie enough of a pompous douche for me to really sympathize with him.

I love Farah very much. She and the Prince had a great SoT together; I kind of had to grit my teeth through WW and the beginning of TTT just to make it to more of her story. I think Farah/Prince had great chemistry, and I loved watching the relationship grow through the long course of the game.
While I did enjoy the movie, viewing it as its own iteration of the mythos, much like PoP 2008, Dastan and Tamina just didn't grab me the same way. In fact, I didn't even like Tamina until I decided that there were parts of her which reminded me most of Elika!
(What bugged me most about the film was that they were throwing Alamut around, but never just Went For It and mixed in some guy in white running roofs in a background scene!)

That's because Gemma Arterton is a horrible actress who has no chemistry with anyone and has very annoying voice. She's beautiful that's for sure, but...damn. The horrible remake of Clash of the TItans was made even more terrible by her presence.
