Context

It's from Kung Fu Panda 2. The goose owns a noodle house and he's seeing his son off, who is going to fight a battle. His son's friend tells the goose, "He'll be back before you can say 'noodles'."

I haven't seen the movie, but just your brief summary made my eyes sting a little.

also context:

goose dad and his panda son just had the 'you're adopted' talk (it was obvious, but they'd avoided actually talking about it until then). panda son was really excited about finding out more about his birth family. goose dad not only is scared that his son won't come back, but that his son doesn't even see him as his real dad anymore.

it's pretty silly but it makes me get the feels too D:

omg that's sad

Oh why did you have to go and make it sad? I was happy with the thought that OP just really, really, really loved noodles.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-12 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
If that's the case, then why is it a secret? That's like saying "I found Mufasa's death sad".

It's not a secret if the scene is supposed to be sad. :/

Probably because Kung Fu Panda 2 is otherwise a goofy kids' movie that came out only recently. At least you can say that The Lion King was part of your childhood and feel some sense of solidarity with probably most of the internet, so there's no stigma about saying that you were affected by any part of it. There is a stigma about watching KFP because there's no nostalgia involved, even if it is an awesome movie.

I really need to watch this movie. I loved the first one and the dad is one of my favourite characters.
