No such thing. That implies anything good can come from the omegaverse. Only smut and bad smut can come from there. And smut is neither good or decent, it's just smut.

You're clearly missing out. I've read great smut before!

Also, there are a few authors who have actually put thought into their versions of the omegaverse and have explored what the social ramifications would be (how/why did these groups evolve, what their effect on the female population was, what prejudices would arise and/or be changed [if men have kids to, child-rearing is not only" women's work", what does that mean for society] ect.) as well as how it would affect each character individually.

It's actually a really, really interesting setting when authors explore it fully. I can still understand how it could very much not be someone's thing, but it does lend itself to some really great stories from time to time. Yeah, there is a lot of just terrible stuff out there, but the same could be said for mpreg and... most other kinks, really.

Dude, I don't even like omegaverse fic and I spent like two weeks trying to work out the genetic, reproductive, biological, and bio-social/anthropological process of an alpha/"beta"/omega society.

The problem being that there is no one standard on how these fics go, i.e. sometimes the alpha/omega thing is only males, sometimes it's females too, sometimes there are betas, sometimes there isn't, ect ect. And a lot of the time it's not even dog penises, just purely a hormonal factor. *headdesk*

But yeah, even if the vast majority of the fic is crap, the concept is fun to play with.
