Well, as long as you don't gripe about 'slash taking over fandom' or something then I highly doubt anyone will care. Just keep reading, writing and drawing het stuff and if anyone asks, say either that slash isn't your thing or simply that pairing X/Y does nothing for you. Big deal. I'll ship most anything if the character dynamics are right, and there's really no reason for people to be a dick to you if you prefer, say, Hermione/Draco over Harry/Draco unless you're rude about your preference. It's when people go off at slash fans for being the majority in so many different fandoms or when talking about a certain pairing in a group that is devoted to a different one that people get defensive and nasty.
