No, premiere as in a season premiere is a word that is spelled with an "e". There's no alternate interpretation or gray area or line of reasoning involved. It's simply the wrong word.

Yeah... about that.

While it's true that language is ever changing, I think you will find more linguistics majors pissed then forgiving when you USE THE WRONG DAMN WORD.
