I guess "because it turns some people on" is not an answer you'd be satisfied with? That's what it boils down to, though. I gotta say I myself fancy the occasional omegaverse fic. It's not a major kink for me, but sometimes it just hits the spot. Then again I enjoy almost anything. :D
