Also, although Spike tried to rape Buffy (which I am NOT excusing btw), he didn't succeed. Their relationship was mutually abusive, and Buffy used Spike for sex throughout season 6. That doesn't make him trying to rape her ok. BUT their relationship was fucked up all around. They were both awful to each other in season 6 and I don't pretend otherwise.
Buffy could take Spike in a fight and was not in a position where she was under his power- ever. Buffy was calling the shots in that relationship throughout season 6.
By contrast, Sansa is really still just a kid who is a prisoner and Sandor is one of her jailers. She has NO power. There's no way she could hope to physically overwhelm Sandor if push came to shove and she is obviously scared and intimidated by him. She has no political power either. She has no friend or allies and Sandor is essentially the one person who isn't actively hurting her. She can't afford to reject him if she wanted to. Sandor has the power to make her life hell if he wanted to because she rejected him or whatever. I'm not saying that he would but the man IS pretty emotionally unstable. The difference in power dynamics is what squicks me about Sansa/Sandor along with Sansa's emotional immaturity.
If you ship it, whatever. I think it's gross, but go ahead. And at least admit that it is fucked up. I like Spike/Buffy, but I don't pretend that their relationship is romantic and healthy.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-12 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)As for being afraid of rejecting him, Sansa had no problem telling Sandor to his face what she thought of him (as opposed to being all courtesies with Joffrey). Sansa's opinion of Sandor was that, as harsh as he might have been to her, he wouldn't let any harm come to her. She was afraid of him but not to the extent that she was worried of him making her life hell or abusing his power over here.
