The thing with aces is that there aren't a lot of us, so most people don't really know about asexuality or understand it all too well. So it was really bad form for the writers to have the episode end as it did, because as another anon brought up, that episode is likely the first time many people have heard about asexuality, and no doubt they went away having the wrong idea. It's frustrating because the key point for ace awareness is the issue of erasure, and not only did this episode totally do that indirectly, but it brought about the wrong kind of awareness - making us look like we all have a medical problem or some stupid bullshit.

As an ace, I'm mad. It wasn't even House's attitude, since that's his entire asshole character. It was just the concept of the episode itself, like seriously what the fuck. And don't get me wrong I'm sure similar cases have happened in hospitals before or whatever, so it's not like it's a thing that can't or wouldn't happen, but I don't think it was right, in light of our struggles with awareness, to be like ~oh look this dude totally had something wrong with him all along, lol. Because now less educated people are going to treat us like Morgellons patients.

But hey whatever, ~*~entertainment~*~. I don't expect the media to care about minorities, not that it makes me any less pressed.
