Personally, I was more bothered that a big part of this story seems to be that you're a bad person if you don't celebrate Christmas, and don't want to celebrate it. Alright, Scrooge was a dick in general, which is bad, but you can still not be interested in celebrating Christmas without being a dick too.

/Someone who is not interested in Christmas and often gets called a Scrooge for it.

I got the impression it was more about misanthropy than not being interested in Christmas? Walking with fellow man and that, and not spouting 'BOOTSTRAPS OR DIE' at local charities.

Concerning Christmas- hopefully you give people the day off to celebrate and be with their families, even if you don't want to be involved yourself.

I thought Christmas was chosen because it was a time of year that HIGHLIGHTS charity and whatnot, especially in the time it took place, and thus represented everything Scrooge hated.
